لقي 9 أشخاص على الأقل مصرعهم، وأصيب 32 آخرون، جراء انفجار هائل وقع داخل مخزن للمتفجرات المصادرة في مركز شرطة بمنطقة نوغام في سريناغار، عاصمة كشمير الخاضعة للسيطرة الهندية، حسبما أعلنت الشرطة.
ووقع الحادث مساء الجمعة، أثناء قيام فريق من الخبراء الجنائيين ورجال الشرطة بفحص المواد المتفجرة المضبوطة، وأكدالمدير العام للشرطة في المنطقة نالين برابهات، أن الانفجار كان حادثاً عرضياً، نافياً أي شبهة عبث أو تدخل خارجي، وقال: «لا داعي لأي تكهنات أخرى حول أسباب الحادث».
تدمير المركز الشرطي بالكامل
كان معظم الضحايا من رجال الشرطة والخبراء الجنائيين، وبعض المصابين في حالة حرجة، وأدى الانفجار الضخم إلى تدمير المركز الشرطي بالكامل، واشتعال النيران فيه وفي عدة مركبات مجاورة. وذكرت وسائل إعلام محلية أن انفجارات صغيرة متتالية حالت دون تنفيذ عمليات الإنقاذ فوراً.
سلسلة انفجارات في الهند
يأتي هذا الحادث بعد أيام قليلة من تفجير سيارة مميت وقع يوم الاثنين الماضي في نيودلهي، أسفر عن مقتل 8 أشخاص على الأقل قرب قلعة القلعة الحمراء التاريخية، ووصفت السلطات الهندية الحادث بأنه «عمل إرهابي شنيع» نفذته «قوى معادية للوطن».
تفكيك خلية إرهابية
وكان الانفجار في سريناغار قد سبقه بساعات إعلان الشرطة في كشمير عن تفكيك خلية إرهابية مشتبه بها تعمل من المنطقة المتنازع عليها، حيث اعتقلت 7 أشخاص على الأقل، بينهم طبيبان من مدن هندية، وضبطت كمية كبيرة من مواد صنع القنابل في مدينة فريداباد.
ومنذ ذلك الحين، نفذت وكالات الأمن الهندية سلسلة مداهمات في كشمير كجزء من التحقيق في تفجير السيارة بدلهي، شملت استجواب مئات الأشخاص واحتجاز العشرات.
وأوضح برابهات أن المواد المتفجرة التي ضبطت في فريداباد نقلت إلى كشمير لأغراض التحقيق، وكانت «محفوظة بأمان في منطقة مفتوحة» داخل المركز الشرطي، حيث بدأ التحقيق في الخلية المشتبه بها الشهر الماضي.
وأضاف أن فريق الخبراء كان يأخذ عينات للتحليل الجنائي عند وقوع الانفجار، مشدداً على أنه «انفجار عرضي» بحت.
At least 9 people were killed and 32 others were injured due to a massive explosion that occurred inside a storage facility for seized explosives at a police station in the Naugam area of Srinagar, the capital of Indian-administered Kashmir, according to police reports.
The incident took place on Friday evening while a team of forensic experts and police officers was examining the seized explosives. The Director General of Police in the region, Nalin Prabhat, confirmed that the explosion was accidental, denying any suspicion of foul play or external interference, and stated: “There is no need for any further speculation about the causes of the incident.” 
Complete Destruction of the Police Station
Most of the victims were police officers and forensic experts, with some of the injured in critical condition. The massive explosion completely destroyed the police station and ignited fires in it and several nearby vehicles. Local media reported that successive small explosions hindered immediate rescue operations.
Series of Explosions in India
This incident comes just days after a deadly car bombing that occurred last Monday in New Delhi, which resulted in the deaths of at least 8 people near the historic Red Fort. Indian authorities described the incident as a “heinous act of terrorism” carried out by “anti-national forces.”
Dismantling of a Terror Cell
The explosion in Srinagar was preceded by the police in Kashmir announcing hours earlier the dismantling of a suspected terror cell operating from the disputed region, where at least 7 people were arrested, including two doctors from Indian cities, and a large quantity of bomb-making materials was seized in Faridabad.
Since then, Indian security agencies have conducted a series of raids in Kashmir as part of the investigation into the car bombing in Delhi, which included questioning hundreds of individuals and detaining dozens.
Prabhat clarified that the explosives seized in Faridabad were transported to Kashmir for investigative purposes and were “safely stored in an open area” within the police station, where the investigation into the suspected cell began last month.
He added that the team of experts was taking samples for forensic analysis when the explosion occurred, emphasizing that it was a purely “accidental explosion.”
