نبَّه المركز الوطني للأرصاد، اليوم، من تأثر منطقة الحدود الشمالية بموجة باردة تنخفض معها درجات الحرارة ابتداءً من يوم غد (الأربعاء) حتى نهاية الأسبوع الحالي، حيث يُتوقَّع أن تراوح درجات الحرارة الصغرى ما بين 3 إلى 1 تحت الصفر، ودعا المركز إلى الحرص والالتزام بتعليمات الجهات المعنية ذات الاختصاص.
وكان المركز توقع رياحًا شديدة السرعة قد تؤدي إلى عواصف ترابية وانعدام في مدى الرؤية الأفقية على أجزاء من مناطق تبوك، الجوف، الحدود الشمالية مع فرصة لهطول أمطار خفيفة على أجزاء من تلك المناطق، ويستمر تأثير الرياح النشطة المثيرة للأتربة والغبار على أجزاء من مناطق مكة المكرمة، المدينة المنورة، حائل، القصيم، الرياض والشرقية، في حين تكون الفرصة مهيأة لتكون السحب الرعدية الممطرة على الأجزاء الشمالية من المنطقة الشرقية، وعلى أجزاء من المرتفعات الغربية والجنوبية الغربية للمملكة ولا يستبعد تكوّن الضباب خلال الليل وساعات الصباح الباكر على أجزاء من تلك المناطق.
The National Center of Meteorology warned today of the northern borders region being affected by a cold wave, with temperatures expected to drop starting tomorrow (Wednesday) until the end of this week. It is anticipated that the minimum temperatures will range between 3 to 1 degrees below zero. The center urged caution and adherence to the instructions of the relevant authorities.
The center also predicted strong winds that could lead to dust storms and a lack of horizontal visibility in parts of the regions of Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and the northern borders, with a chance of light rain in parts of those areas. The effects of active winds stirring up dust and sand will continue in parts of the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Ha’il, Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of thunderstorm clouds forming in the northern parts of the Eastern Province and in parts of the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom. Fog formation during the night and early morning hours is also not ruled out in parts of those areas.
