تتواصل الاحتجاجات في إيران لليوم التاسع، وشهد سوق طهران الكبير أو ما يعرف بـ«البازار» إضراباً عاماً، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، وأغلقت العديد من المحلات التجارية أبوابها.
خطط حكومية جديدة
وعلى الرغم من إعلان الحكومة الإيرانية خططاً لتقديم دفعة شهرية لمعظم المواطنين تعادل نحو 7 دولارات أمريكية، خرج العشرات من الإيرانيين في مناطق جنوب غربي البلاد؛ للتعبير عن رفضهم للأوضاع الاقتصادية والمعيشية في البلاد، وشهدت مدينة شهركرد عاصمة محافظة جهار محال وبختياري احتجاجات غاضبة ضد الوضع الاقتصادي المتردي.
من جانبها، قالت المتحدثة باسم الحكومة، فاطمة مهاجراني، إن الخطة تهدف إلى الحفاظ على القوة الشرائية للأسر، والسيطرة على التضخم، وضمان الأمن الغذائي، وفق ما نقلت عنها وكالة الأنباء الإيرانية (مهر). وأضافت متحدثة الحكومة أن قيمة الدعم سترتفع من 3 ملايين ريال إلى 10 ملايين ريال، أي أكثر من ثلاثة أضعاف، موضحة أن الإعانات لن تُصرف نقداً، وإنما ستُودع في بطاقات الائتمان الخاصة بالمستفيدين، لتمكينهم من شراء السلع الأساسية. وأفادت بأن مبلغ الـ 10 ملايين ريال سيُودع شهرياً في حسابات الأسر، على أن يبدأ تطبيق الخطة الجديدة اعتباراً من 10 يناير 2026.
أزمة اقتصادية حادة
وانطلقت الاحتجاجات قبل نحو 9 أيام، في وقت تواجه إيران الخاضعة لعقوبات أمريكية ودولية على خلفية ملفات شتى أبرزها برنامجها النووي والصاروخي، أزمة اقتصادية حادة تمثلت، خصوصاً في الآونة الأخيرة، بتراجع حاد في سعر صرف الريال المحلي.
وجاءت بعد نحو 6 أشهر على حرب مع إسرائيل تلقت خلالها ضربات طالت منشآت نووية وعسكرية ومواقع مدنية. وتدخلت الولايات المتحدة في هذه الحرب التي امتدت 12 يوماً في يونيو، عبر قصف 3 منشآت نووية رئيسية إيرانية. وطالت الاحتجاجات بدرجات متفاوتة 20 مدينة على الأقل، متركزة خصوصاً في غرب البلاد.
Protests in Iran continue for the ninth day, and the Grand Bazaar of Tehran witnessed a general strike today (Tuesday), with many shops closing their doors.
New Government Plans
Despite the Iranian government’s announcement of plans to provide a monthly payment to most citizens equivalent to about 7 US dollars, dozens of Iranians took to the streets in the southwestern regions of the country to express their rejection of the economic and living conditions. The city of Shahrekord, the capital of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, saw angry protests against the deteriorating economic situation.
The government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, stated that the plan aims to maintain the purchasing power of families, control inflation, and ensure food security, according to the Iranian news agency (Mehr). The government spokesperson added that the value of the support will increase from 3 million rials to 10 million rials, more than three times, explaining that the subsidies will not be paid in cash but will be deposited into the beneficiaries’ credit cards to enable them to purchase basic goods. She reported that the amount of 10 million rials will be deposited monthly into families’ accounts, with the new plan set to take effect from January 10, 2026.
Severe Economic Crisis
The protests began about 9 days ago, at a time when Iran, under American and international sanctions due to various issues, most notably its nuclear and missile programs, is facing a severe economic crisis, particularly characterized in recent times by a sharp decline in the exchange rate of the local rial.
This came about 6 months after a war with Israel, during which it suffered strikes targeting nuclear, military, and civilian facilities. The United States intervened in this 12-day war in June by bombing 3 major Iranian nuclear facilities. The protests have affected at least 20 cities to varying degrees, particularly concentrated in the western part of the country.
